Munich, July 1st, 2026 — Netop, the trusted provider of a controlled, auditable, secure remote access software platform for critical and regulated infrastructure, today announced it has joined Bitkom, Germany’s digital association representing the technology sector.
The membership brings Netop into direct dialogue with the policy and industry discussions that are shaping Germany and Europe’s digital infrastructure agenda: regulation, resilience, sovereignty, cybersecurity, public-sector capability, and industrial competitiveness.
“For us, this is not a logo exercise,” said Bernhard Hecker, CEO of Netop. “The next phase of digital infrastructure in Germany and Europe will not be decided by slogans. It will be decided by whether operators can keep critical systems secure, accessible, auditable, and under their own control. That is where secure remote access sits. Not as a convenience layer. As part of the control architecture.”
Netop’s decision to join Bitkom reflects the company’s position that access control has moved from an operational convenience to a governance requirement. As European operators face tightening obligations under frameworks such as NIS2, the ability to produce a clear, defensible record of remote access activity —who connected, under what authorization, and for how long—is becoming a baseline expectation rather than a differentiator.
“Bitkom is one of the places where these discussions become more concrete,” Hecker said. “Netop should be part of that conversation. Not to observe it from the outside, but to contribute what we see every day in critical environments: access is no longer just connectivity. Access is accountability.“
Through Bitkom, Netop will engage with peers, policymakers, and industry bodies on the practical requirements of operating critical systems under increasing regulatory and security pressure. While bringing more than 40 years of engineering experience in secure remote access to the table.
